Kagman Community Health Center (KCHC) opened its doors to the public and the Kagman community. The ceremony was held at the Kagman Health Center. To honor this event, in attendance were Governor Eloy Inos, Lt. Governor Jude Hofschneider, and Executive Director of PIPCA Clifford Chang, Congressman Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan, and CEO Juan Babauta along with various members of the community.
Over 100 people helped celebrate the Kagman CHC Grand Opening. The Kagman CHC Executive Director, Vincent Castro, opened the ceremony expressing his sincerest appreciation and excitement for this event. He specifically mentioned that the KCHC will be one of the first to use a full Electronic Health Record (EHR) system in the CNMI. This was made possible through the inclusion of the KCHC in the Rural Network Development Program that seeks to improve healthcare delivery with private and public providers by sharing a common EHR platform. Additionally, the technical assistance and support provided from the Telecommunications and Social Informatics (TASI) Research Program from University of Hawaii at Manoa and Indian Health Service was instrumental in the configuration and implementation of the system. “EHR is a huge stride forward in providing quality health care. The number of uses and benefits of storing and retrieving electronic health records are almost limitless. To name a few, the EHR system can alert doctors about possible medication errors, provide preventive care reminders, and access to patient charts remotely. Combine all of the benefits of EHR and you can provide consistent quality patient care.”
Kagman CHC will offer clinical and non-clinical services using the best technologies and equipment. Clinical services will include primary care, various screenings, voluntary family planning, immunizations, well child service, and gynecological and obstetrical care including prenatal and perinatal services. Non-clinical services will include case management, health education, outreach and translation. Additional services will include HIV testing.
Executive Director Vince Castro welcomes and encourages the public to utilize the services being offered at KCHC.
