Labor & Delivery

The CHCC's Labor and Delivery Unit is located in the South wing of the hospital on the second level. Our staff consists of registered nurses and OB/GYN doctors who are entrusted with the delivery of approximately 1,000 babies each year in the CNMI. Our natural labor process is supported by the staff, and cesarean sections are available when needed. Our Labor and Delivery staff are all certified in Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP), Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Our unit features 4 birthing rooms where mothers can labor and deliver. Each room is equipped with a fetal monitor, a birthing bed which accommodates different labor positions, and a radiant warmer which allows babies to be assessed in the same room as the recovering Mom.  Since we are a baby-friendly hospital, parents have the opportunity to provide bonding and breastfeeding with direct skin-to-skin contact with their new baby right after delivery.
